Meet (L to R) - Belly, Jelly, and Mouton (French for "sheep"). These are the latest to join our family. My husband urged me to take Mouton to live with our youngest grandchild, Soleil (French for "sun"). Not my idea of a child in need, with all the toys she has, but I reluctantly agreed. Maybe Mouton can be donated back to our cause at some point?
My husband, Greg, has always loved little girls, and so was thrilled when Soleil came along. He proudly has a photo of her as the wallpaper on his phone. Check out the hair do ... isn't that a HUGE ponytail? Oh, can you actually see it? Yep, on top of her head!
Today is a blustery wet day in Niagara. I'd said in my previous post I'd wait until next year to share photos of Niagara Falls, but as we drove by today I braved the drizzle to take some photos. Let me start with some online photos, taken in nicer weather.

Next is the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The first photo is looking in a similar direction to the initial one.

I don't remember ever being at the falls when it was so windy, and the spray was travelling fast and clouding the view. When I looked more to the left of the Horseshoe Falls, this was the view, partially obstructed by the spray.

The far left of the Horseshoe Falls is seen in the photo below. Definitely a dreary day, but it wasn't cold and the spray was fun, although I kept sheltering my new phone!

The new iPhone 6S takes "Live" photos. For all still photos, it records before and after you actually press the shutter button. If I hold down on any still photo on the iPhone, it becomes a short video. With these photos of the falls, I can certainly see the spray rushing by, and hear the roar of the water. Impressive. Unfortunately I don't think that transfers to the blog. There's so much to learn about this new phone, but it's fun.
So, weather like this makes us look forward to our upcoming house sits. Our first one starts next week, when we fly to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, for two weeks with two small dogs, Teddy and Frankie. It will be our first visit there, so we're looking forward to it. Yes, we'll keep you posted.

Looks like you're off and running on your winter adventures! Maybe at some point you'll be in Mexico?
ReplyDeleteI've been following along with your travels. We have lots of booking in Arizona, but we do have gaps. Who knows where those gaps will take us? It's part of the unknown that we enjoy ;)
