The homeowners met us at the airport and took us to their home, after showing us the lights of the beautiful inner harbour. Although we've previously house sat for this couple, this is the first time we've done so at their Canadian home in Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
We are fortunate to have a wonderful view from our bedroom balcony, across the waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Washington state, USA. It was hazy at the time I took this photo, but earlier I could clearly see snow on the mountain peaks, and yet it was warm and sunny where I sat. Such a contrast.
Our homeowner took us on a great tour of the area, pointing out highlights and places of interest. We thoroughly enjoyed our day. At one point we stopped to feed the harbour seals, which was a fun thing to do.
Our house mate, Fanci, was at the groomers today, so we didn't see much of her. We're looking forward to enjoying lots of time with her over the next while.
As I said in the previous post, many people have said "oh, you'll love Victoria, it's beautiful". I already get why they say that, and I agree. We're looking forward to discovering the area. Personally, I'm ready to pack up and move here, but Greg's being a bit more practical and level-headed. It may take him a few more days to come to the same conclusion ;)
