Reuniting with vacation friends

We often meet people in our travels, especially on vacation, and exchange the genuine comment that we hope we meet up again sometime. Unfortunately, that rarely happens. That wasn't the case today.

Donna, Wally, and their dog, Buddy

While wintering in Costa Rica in 2014, we met Donna and Wally. We were comfortable in each other's company and had some fun times together. We've exchanged a few emails since then, but haven't kept in regular contact. However, once we knew we were heading for a house sit near their home, we made plans to get together.

Us at their home with our buddy, Fanci

Donna and Wally live about 40 mins away from our current home, in a small rural community called Metchosin, part of the metro Greater Victoria region. We enjoyed a lovely dinner together and talked for hours. They were particularly interested in our various house sits, as we didn't start doing that until after we met them.

We'll be at our current home another month, so we look forward to hopefully getting together again.

When we were last in Arizona, we bought three "lamb chops" sheep of various colours. Two stayed in Arizona at our previous house sit earlier this year, and the other returned to Canada with us. He came along with us as a present for Fanci, but Fanci really didn't take much interest in him ... until today. This morning she was tossing him around and tearing at his eyelashes. If history repeats itself, she may not be a stuffed lamb chop for very much longer!
