You never forget your first ...

The saying connected to the post title is that you supposedly never forget your first love. However, I'm not about to share those details with you - although I do remember - but I will reflect back on our first house sit, and from that, our first love.

Back in late 2014, we were fortunate enough to have our first house sit in Arizona, in a beautiful home with a beautiful girl, Fanci. We certainly fell in love with her.

We did more sits with Fanci, in 2015 and earlier this year. The homeowners also have a home in Canada. They asked us to come to their Canadian home to spend time with Fanci while they go on vacation.

Tomorrow we leave for Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Neither of us have ever been to British Columbia, so that in itself will be a first for us. Whenever we mention where we're going, the first response is almost universally "oh, it's beautiful there - you'll love it". Needless to say, we're looking forward to it.

Tomorrow we fly from Hamilton, Ontario, to Calgary, Alberta (4+ hours) and then from Calgary to Victoria (1.5 hrs). We'll travel through 3 timezones across this great big country of ours.

As usual, you can expect blog posts from me, as we explore Vancouver Island and spend time with Fanci. We'll also reunite with friends we made in Costa Rica back in 2013, who also live in Victoria. We're looking forward to that.

It's been a hot summer in Niagara, so perhaps I'll enjoy the cooler temperatures of Victoria. I'll let you know.
