Scents of romance

This is the fourth time we've house sat for our current homeowners. Having taken on some gardening work, with their permission, we've needed to take garden waste to the local recycling centre a few times. It's become a joke between us and the homeowners that Greg's idea of a romantic date is to take me there. Today he offered to romance me, but it didn't involve a trip "to the dump", as I call it.

Seen at the park today

Yesterday, while I was having a massage, Greg took Fanci for a walk. That's when he discovered an area he liked and wanted to share with me today.

We went to Windsor Park, which is not far from our home. The beautifully maintained grounds are used for a long list of sports. The playing field can also be used as an off-leash park until 11 am each day. We didn't have Fanci with us though, as this was a romantic date, remember?

As well as a rose garden, there's a separate scented garden. We walked in the garden, enjoying the mix of colours and the various fragrances. It was lovely.

Then we went across to the bistro that's housed in the lovely Tudor-style building you can see across the street in the photo above. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and had a window seat where we could watch people go by.

This was Greg's favourite flower today

After lunch we went home to pick up Fanci and walked down to the beach. There were lots of people at the beach, but a much younger crowd than us. The first two young women I saw were topless. Greg said he's seen them there before. Perhaps that explains why he's happy to walk Fanci at the beach most days?

This was my favourite

Another beautiful sunny day in Victoria, with pleasant temperatures. We're still in t-shirts and shorts, so I'm happy :)
