There's a monkey in the middle of the flock

By the time you read this post, Greg and I will hopefully have started the first day of our Canadian winter snow birding. We have two back-to-back flights of more than 5 hours each - with a short layover in San Francisco - before we arrive in Honolulu.

A negative of our travels is that we leave behind family and friends. However, Greg's younger daughter brought us to Toronto tonight, and we enjoyed a meal with her.

The day before our travels, his older daughter and one grandson stopped by our house, eager to bring us the gift they'd been telling us was for our travels.

When they ordered it they hadn't realized how big "Baa" would be (already named before he joined our flock), so he wasn't able to come on this journey. Also, sheep who travel with us don't return to Canada, and he's just too precious to let go of just yet.

Look at the detail that's been included in the design. The sheep in the centre, or course, as well as the name of our blog. Also you'll notice the two animal tracks, meant to represent the pets we care for when we house sit. We just love Baa and were a little sad to leave him behind.

I often get teased about how much time I spend in warm and cozy PJs in Canada. As the days turned a little colder recently, my lovely husband came home with a gift for me.

Yes, they're polar bears, not sheep

Just like Baa, this onesie will stay in Canada for now. I doubt I'll need it where we're going as we plan to chase the sun and warmth.

We'll keep you updated as we travel towards "down under".
