Being aware of the Tsunami Evacuation Plan

We commented on this sign when we first noticed it. It shows what to do in the case of a tsunami. More clarification on this at the end of this post.

The other day Greg decided he'd drive to the opposite side of the island, to Red Hook, where the ferry crosses to a sister island, St. John. When I commented that I didn't want him to be driving for so long, he reminded me that the island is only 31 sq. miles in total. It's true, you can cover quite a distance if you don't keep getting redirected (I've stopped using the word "lost").

The ferry (cars and people) runs from St. Thomas to St. John (seen in the distance)

Greg chose to stop at Duffy's Love Shack, which claims to be "the best parking lot bar in the world". Greg said he was aiming to romance me. The food was good, but the romancing was less than memorable :)

While at Duffy's, we saw clear instructions for what to do in the case of a tsunami ...

EVACUATION PLAN  1. GRAB BEER  2. RUN LIKE HELL

It can't have been created by any government agency; not with that brevity and clarity!

Our older dog, Teddy, is still having some ups and downs with his health, but we'll get through it. Here he is playing tug-of-war with his brother, Frankie. That look Frankie's giving me is begging for a bubble over him for a caption!

Reminder: We have the prior approval of the pet owners to post photos and stories.

  1. I think Frankie's telling you that his brother is picking on him and he expects you to help. As for the tee-shirt... sounds like good advice to me.
