Another sunny day in Santa Barbara

Today's weather was a repeat of yesterday, only warmer. We reached the high 70s today, which was perfect. I even sat outside for a while with my feet in the swimming pool. Apparently, Santa Barbara gets about 300 days of sunshine a year. With hedgerows of flowers like this to greet us at the hotel, what's not to like here?

As we've already done the tourist thing here before, we headed for the beach this morning and walked the seafront and the pier. We were able to get up close to a very tame pelican who was standing tall on the seat, until Greg came along. It looked to me like they were sizing each other up, neither of them willing to take their eyes of the other!

We saw a line up of Latinos out the door of a small restaurant, so we decided to stop there for lunch.

It turned out the restaurant had taken three weeks vacation and had just reopened today, so I guess the regulars were there to get their fix. The food was tasty, and it was a great spot to people-watch too. A good find.

OK, this is a photo of the back of our bathroom door at the hotel. Why, you ask? Well, those are hooks at the top of the door, about 7' off the ground. Needless to say, I couldn't reach them if I tried! How tall was the person who installed them?

Our journey continues tomorrow!
