Today, with sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s, Greg and I made our way to the nearby Sabino Canyon Recreation Area. It's listed on TripAdvisor as the #4 thing to do in Tucson (yesterday's air museum is #3). With an estimated 1.25 million visitors annually, it's obviously worth seeing. It lists many outdoor activities, including strenuous hikes up rocky mountains, but we were there primarily for the Sabino Canyon Tour.
It's a 45-minute narrated tram ride that takes you through the canyon. The tour guide started by telling us safety tips of what to do if we encountered a mountain lion. There are nine stops on the tour where you can get off and on again along the way. After hearing about the mountain lion, I was glad we'd already decided we weren't getting off!

I did take many photos, but most just don't do it justice. The tour guide pointed out various tree and cactus varieties, and told us more about the local Saguaro cactus. We crossed narrow bridges over a number of streams, and even saw a couple of small sandy beach areas. There were trails on some of the mountains where it looked like a "Where's Waldo?" picture as the hikers were so high up it was difficult to see them at all.

We ended our day with yet another beautiful sunset. I don't think we'd ever take these for granted, they're just so beautiful.
Nice place.
