Our ship, the Crown Princess, docked in San Diego |
The first port of call on our 10-day Mexican cruise was San
Diego, United States. We've spent enough time there in the past that we've done
the tourist things that interest us. We therefore chose to go for a long walk
around the downtown area and harbour front, where you can see this 25' statue.
Officially named "Unconditional Surrender" better known as "Kissing Statue" celebrating the end of World War II |
The weather was warm (high 70s) and sunny so it was lovely;
nice enough for group yoga classes outdoors.
We also saw banks of bike racks which were from some type of
a sharing or rental program. The sharing program for this car2go electric car in the
photo below required a membership card that's read at the white area on the
dash and then the door opens. Now that's a smart car!
Greg adopted a new sheep, which was good as we’d forgotten
to bring any with us. His name? Diego, of course. Do you see a trend here? Remember Sol and Vang last week, from Solvang?

As one of more than 3000 passengers, I was impressed with how
streamlined Princess was with its passengers, whether it was in the restaurants
onboard, or tenders to port. I never felt like part of a cattle call that I've
heard about for ships of this size. Good job, Princess!
In the next blog I'll cover our Mexican ports. ¡Hasta pronto!
Looks like no moss is growing under your feet!! We are enjoying your blog.
