Having no houses or pets to care for, will travel ...

We don't have any house or pet sits booked now, so we decided it's time to move on. The most recent homeowners generously invited us to stay longer, or to return to their Mexico home, but we gratefully declined. So, we said goodbye to our comfy back yard, and hit the road this morning.

It sure was a lovely place to relax!

Our home in Canada is north east of Phoenix. However, for our return journey we've decided to travel south and then east, so that we return on a different route and see different locations. Greg said it's now time for a vacation!

We stopped in at the 5 Points Market and Restaurant in south Tucson, and really enjoyed our meal. This time we didn't use any Internet search, but rather used our pre-Internet ways, just driving until we saw something that caught our interest. We then checked Tripadvisor and it was #178 of 1732 restaurants in Tucson; a good find. The food was delicious, and I would visit again, if we were in the area.

After Tucson the interstate headed east, and we saw a repeat of landscape similar to when we crossed the desert to go to and from California. It was a mix of scrub and mountain ranges. Even after this length of time, it doesn't get old for me; it's fascinating.

While still in Arizona, we entered an area called Texas Canyon. I noticed a difference in the mountain ranges either side of us. On our left, everything was light and the sky was blue.

On our right, the mountains were dark and the sky was heavy and overcast. It was quite a contrast.

Soon after the landscape changed and we went through areas of huge boulders. The photo below can't do it justice; they were magnificent.

This was huge, but it's so hard to see that here.

We crossed into New Mexico and are currently near the border with Texas. Our clocks moved ahead an hour, not because we changed time zones (Mountain), but because New Mexico recognizes Daylight Savings Time and Arizona does not. Confusing!

Tomorrow we'll continue our journey to places as yet unknown. The adventure continues!
