Looking at the map, I'm curious about the "designated free speech" area ... are there different rules outside of that small space? Hmmm, maybe I should go back to check it out, perhaps on a busy weekend day.
I was impressed by the demonstration garden, where there were examples of the use of native plants in landscaping to reduce water use.

The 20-minute drive to the park was along well-manicured streets bordering many golf courses with luscious greens, large lakes, and water features. The dog park itself was far larger than the one across from our home, and was sectioned into three areas: one for passive dogs, one for active dogs, and one for "turf restoration". There's no allowance for turf restoration at the one near us, that's for sure!
Taking a break from the sun |
As is often the case, we started chatting with a lady and were describing our pet sitting adventure. Just as we were explaining that we're Canadians from Niagara Falls, a passerby said "Oh, I'm from Crystal Beach", a distance of about 20 miles (36 km) from Niagara Falls. She's also a snowbird and has a home in both places. What a small world!
I loved the stone walls in this garden |
So, as you can see, our free time is often spent pampering pooches, but we also get to enjoy the outdoors and discover new places. Yesterday I spent time at the pool at our complex, and today I'll be back there again, given that it's sunny and 82F, and the pool is heated. I love being a snowbird!
Maybe that's the section of the park folks are allowed to get up on their soapbox and preach or rant and rave.
ReplyDeleteYup, I agree, and that's why I'd like to see it :)
