The Emerald Coast, Florida

As a follow up to my March 29th post, about our visit with friends from our previous winter spent in Costa Rica, here's our friend's blog of our time together. At the very least, click on the link to see the lovely photos she took of us. Thanks, Sharon!

Travelling the bridge between Fort Walton and Destin.
Yes, that's white sand on the right!

We're now settled in on Okaloosa Island, in the Fort Walton/Destin area, part of Florida's Emerald Coast. With the help of Tripadvisor, we were able to book a week in a cozy condo, just a few steps from the beach.

Typical beachfront complex, taken from our balcony, late afternoon

You'll see many high-rise buildings along the beachfront, but we're in a two-storey small condo complex tucked in behind a large house on that strip, so we even have an ocean view, although it's more like a ocean glimpse, if truth be told.

The same high-rise complex, but can you also see our sea view?

Now that we're about 300 feet away from the Gulf of Mexico, Greg can get white sand in his toes as much as he wants! We can also walk as far as the eye can see and not run out of beach. Life is good!
