We're sleeping in our own bed tonight!

Greg and I arrived back in Canada today, April 17th. I have to admit, although it's been a wonderful adventure, it is nice to be home.

So, some statistics of our adventure:

  • we were away for 131 days
  • we went to two countries; the USA and Mexico
  • we visited 18 states in the USA
  • we travelled 10,116 miles (16,186 kms), with Greg doing almost all of the driving
  • we house and pet sat 6 times, in a total of 4 homes (2 were return visits)
  • we cared for 5 dogs and 1 cat (and the homes)
  • we got to know 2 other dogs belonging to our close friend
  • we met so many great people along the way
  • this blog travelled to 19 countries around the world
  • and I wrote 101 blog posts, which I loved sharing with you.

We thoroughly enjoyed this experience; it was a good fit for us. We soon figured out that we took great pleasure in caring for the pets, letting them steal our hearts a little, and giving us love in return. We still talk about the pets every day, wondering how they are, and we keep in contact with the homeowners. We enjoyed caring for the homes, and took great satisfaction in trying to exceed the homeowners' expectations.

Would we do it again? In a heartbeat! We're already booked for a sit in August/September for Long Island, New York. Next winter we will either return to Arizona, or venture to Australia, where there are lots of opportunities on TrustedHousesitters.com.

Until our next travels ... bye for now, and thanks for following the blog!

  1. We are in Ohio, we just missed you in Tennessee.
I have to tell you about a sign we saw in Louisiana.
    In a small town, written on a garage door, covering the whole door it said;

    Support your local coon-ass
    eat more crawfish
