Warm sunny days are on the horizon

As many of you know, we're currently on the road, travelling from Canada to Arizona. The photo below is of our "herd" a few months ago. I'm pleased to say that, looking at this same shelf just before we left, many of these "friends" have left home. My husband often calls me a "rotten shepherdess", because I get attached to them and hate to part with them, but I'm doing a better job these days. I'm sure he'll have no problem replacing them though, as he always does!

So, just an update on our travels, for those who wants to be kept informed. Day 1 saw us travel from Niagara Falls, Canada to Richmond, Indiana. On Day 2, we stopped in Springfield, Missouri. Today, Day 3, we're now stopped for the night in Amarillo, Texas.

Our Road Trip Planner showed the full journey would take 33 hours. We now have approximately 10½ more hours to go, so we're well on our way.

Keep in mind that one of reasons we do this trip is to stay away from the Canadian cold winter weather. So, Day 1 was 33F (0 Celsius) most of the day. Day 2 started at 28F (-2 Celsius) and reached a high of 60F (16 Celsius). Today started at 48F (9 Celsius) - a great improvement - and reached a high of 63F (17 Celsius). The weather forecast in Phoenix this week shows a high in the mid 70s (24 Celsius), which sounds good to me. Besides, almost every day is sunny there. We're looking forward to it.

  1. Did you check the Canadian weather? It might be warmer than Texas ;-) You're moving along at a right smart pace.... but you still have beautiful New Mexico to travel through... time to get a green chile cheeseburger or wander through Old Town in Albuquerque.
